SRINAGAR: Senior Journalist and social Activist, Sabir Ayoubhas been apprehended during a peaceful sit-in at Beehama Chowk in Ganderbal.Sabir was leading a gathering of many hundred locals- under the banner ofGanderbal Development Forum- who were demanding a complete shift of CentralUniversity to the district and resuming work on Ganderbal Power Project, andjobs to local Youth in the CUK besides starting work on Pandach road .

Eyewitness said that the Police took Sabir Ayoub inpreventing custody in Police Station Ganderbal whereas, the others weredispersed peacefully.Pertinently the senior Jurno has been leading a campaignfor shifting the Central University to Ganderbal for a while and has been veryactive in mobilising public support in helping the admisntration in solving theissues with locals.

Earlier according to reporter, addressing the gatheringSabir Ayoub said that Ganderbal was left behind in development despite itsending many Chief Minsters from 1975. He said people should be aware of their rights and demand development inthe district which was despite being adjacent to the Summer Capital hasremained underdeveloped.
